Businessman seeks adjournment in Sh106 million fraud case
Proceedings in a fraud case involving businessman Jonathan Ngenga Ndisya were on Friday adjourned after he asked the court to defer the scheduled hearing, citing the absence of his legal counsel. The matter, before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina at the Milimani Law Courts, involves Ngenga and co-accused Peter Kamau, who face multiple charges linked to an alleged conspiracy to defraud. Ngenga told the court that his advocate, Joe Mwangi, was unable to attend after travelling upcountry to address an emergency, and requested that the hearing be pushed to a later date. “Your Honour, my advocate has not been able to attend today’s court session after receiving an emergency that required him to travel home. I pray that the hearing be postponed,” he submitted. The magistrate allowed the request, directing that the case be mentioned virtually on March 2, 2026.
